Picky Thinking

Your Mind Is Not The City Dump.

Imagine this. Your mind is not a landfill site. Yet, some of us treat it like one, don't we? Random worries, old insults, that awkward thing you said in 2009. Suddenly it's all piled up like "yep, this seems fine." Spoiler! It's not fine.

Here's the thing. Just because a thought shows up, doesn't mean it deserves overnight accommodation, a five-course meal and a comfy chair to have a cup of tea with you!

Some thoughts are party crashers, just wandering in, grabbing a drink, making a mess. You don't have to be polite. You can show them the door. Evict them. And no, you don't need to feel guilty. You're not running a charity for stray thoughts. Next time something unhelpful pops in, just picture yourself as a nightclub bouncer. Clipboard. Velvet rope. "Name on the list? No? Then out you go!"

This image reminds us, that we are actually in charge. Choose what stays. And toss the rest.

Commit today to being picky about your thoughts.
